About Ashram
Ananda Bhawan Ashram was founded on 7th April 1930 (Ram Navami) by Shri Shri Gurudeva at a rented house named “Lalkuthi” at Suriya, Hazaribagh Road Station, Giridih, Jharkhand.
Shri Shri Gurudeva purchased the Ashram land of 2 bighas 12 kattas at Suriya, near the “Lalkuthi Ashram” on 7th November 1931 and laid the foundations of the Mandirs of Shri Shri Anandanmoyee Maa and Shri Shri Madanmohan on 11th February 1932 (Shri Panchami).
Gurudeva
Guruvar Shri Shri Sadhu Sitaram was incarnated at Bargadda, an obscure village situated nearby 13 k.m. west of Hazaribagh Town, Jharkhand (the then Bihar) in a ‘Gopa’ family on Saturday, the 22nd November 1885 (6th Agrahayan 1292 of the Bengali era). Having lost his parents (mother Smt Nanda Devi and father Sri Moni Mahato) at a very premature age the beloved ‘SITUA’ got shelter in the family of Sri Girin Gupta, an advocate of Hazaribagh.
Ashram Emblem
পদ্মের পাপড়িগুলি এখানে ভক্তি বিশ্বাসের প্রতীক। শ্রী শ্রী গুরুদেব বলেছেন – “ভাব ছাড়া ভক্তি লাভ করা যায় না। ভক্তি সাধনার ভিত্তি। প্রত্যেকের ভিতরে ভক্তি, বিশ্বাস ও স্নেহ আছে। ভক্তির দ্বারা পরকাল ও বিশ্বাস দ্বারা আনন্দ লাভ করা যায়। আনন্দের অভাবে গুরুকে বাঁধতে পারা যায় না। গুরু যতদিন তাঁর শিষ্যকে ভক্তির হাতে তুলে দিতে না পারেন, ততদিনই গুরুর কাজ।”
এই ভক্তি-বিশ্বাসের উপর একটি আশীর্বাদী হাত দেখা যাচ্ছে। তাঁর এই হাত থেকে যখন আশীর্বাদ অর্থাৎ কৃপা এসে পড়বে তখনই নির্ভরতা আসবে। তাঁর উক্তি – “আমার জীবন ধৌত হয়েছে, আমি আর কলুষিত করব না – এইটা নির্ভরতা। যতক্ষণ গুরু ও ভগবান না দেন ততক্ষণ এ নির্ভরতা আসতে পারেনা।” এই আশীর্বাদী হাত এখানে নির্ভরতার প্রতীক।

- Brother Shyamal Kumar Roy, husband of Sister Mukti Roy, father of Sister Soma Badopadhyay, Sister Ruma Roy, Sister Shampa Banerjee and Sister Mitul Roy, and father-in-law of Brother Tarit Bandopadhyay and Brother Bappaditya Roy, expired on 9th January 2025.

- Sister Dipali Biswas Sayal of Asansol, Elder Daughter of Sister Kanan Biswas, Mother of Ishani Sayal and Suhani Sayal, and Sister of Brother Dipankar Biswas, Sister Sonali Biswas Saha and Brother Dipak Biswas, expired on 10th September 2025.
