Gurudeva Sadhu Sitaram

A Brief Profile of Guruvar Shri Shri Sadhu Sitaram

Guruvar Shri Shri Sadhu Sitaram was incarnated at Bargadda, an obscure village situated nearby 13 k.m. west of Hazaribagh Town, Jharkhand (the then Bihar) in a ‘Gopa’ family on Saturday, the 22nd November, 1885 (6th Agrahayan, 1292 of the Bengali era). Having lost his parents (mother Smt Nanda Devi and father Sri Moni Mahato) at a very premature age the beloved ‘SITUA’ got shelter in the family of Sri Girin Gupta, an advocate of Hazaribagh.

In his short life span Sadhu Sitaram realized and attained the synthesis of all religions through peregrination in the path of austere practice. Getting initiated by Swami Purnananda Saraswati of Dashnam Sect of Jagadguru Adi Sankaracharya descendance, Sadhu Sitaram went to ‘Tarakeshwar’ on instruction of Lord Shiva to be initiated in ‘Shaiva Mantra’ directly by ‘Baba Taraknath’ and from there to ‘Kamakshya’ via ‘Bindhyachal’ and was indoctrinated by ‘Devi Bhairavi’ in ‘Shakti Mantra’. On her order he proceeded to ‘Puri Dham’, got sacramented in ‘Vaishnav Mantra’ and was blessed with transcendental vision from ‘Shri Shri Jagannath Deva’. The Avatar had prodigious acumen in devotional songs and many musical instruments and he stressed importance in religious prayer, meditation and worship through these medium.

Sri Sri Sadhu Sitaram set up ‘Ananda Bhawan Ashram’ at Suriya, Hazaribagh with the Sri Murti images of ‘Maa Anandamoyee Kali’ and ‘Madan Mohan – Radharani’ in the year 1930. He was the creation of collective venture of ‘Lord Shiva’ and ‘Lord Vishnu’ inheriting the qualities and powers of both and for the benefit of mankind who take refuge in Him. All people of different cults, faiths, beliefs and convictions can take shelter under his banner. He infuses life and courage in the minds of his devotees and blesses them all with the Supreme Wisdom.

On Friday, the 22nd April, 1932 (9th Baisakh, 1339 of the Bengali era), this great Avatar and our Holy Master being absorbed in profound meditation and trance, fused into greater esse.
